1 From scope of cover to claim duties

The product name is only an entry point; the answer depends on cover, cause and responsibility.

Five-field product map

  • First identify whether the cover protects property, liability, income, expenses or a fixed benefit. Exam
  • Read insured perils with exclusions; a product name does not prove that every similar loss is covered. Trap
