Official pass standards and in-app practice performance are different measures. This page uses question-level, device-level records from PickMyQuiz learning_progress. As at 28 July 2026, the four IIQE banks contain 67,234 real answers.

Data boundary: options.selected_count is excluded because it contains synthetic social-proof seed data. Accuracy below comes from is_correct on actual answers. It is not the official IIQE pass rate, a unique-candidate count or real-exam data.

Practice overview across four papers

PaperQuestionsReal answersPractice accuracy
Paper 1 Principles and Practice92235,56564.2%
Paper 2 General Insurance65420,42869.7%
Paper 3 Long Term Insurance76239,58275.6%
Paper 5 Investment-linked Long Term8379,56469%

Across 3,173 questions, weighted IIQE practice accuracy is 69.3%. Different apps have different learners, repeat-answer patterns and item mixes, so the paper-level gap is not an official exam-difficulty ranking.

Current lowest-accuracy topic in each paper

  • Paper 1: Structure of the Hong Kong insurance industry, 1,266 answers, 58%.
  • Paper 2: Insurance products, 10,921 answers, 68.4%.
  • Paper 3: Types of life insurance and annuities, 8,949 answers, 73.3%.
  • Paper 5: Introduction to investment-linked policies, 438 answers, 63.5%; interpret the smaller sample cautiously.

Keep MPFE separate

MPFE is a separate examination and is excluded from the IIQE weighted figure. Its 502-question bank has 9,224 real answers and 70.7% practice accuracy. Its lowest-accuracy published topic is the MPF system introduction, with 153 answers at 61.4%.

How to use the figures correctly

  1. Check sample size: Paper 5 and some small topics have much less evidence.
  2. Compare practice only: never present 69.3% as an official pass rate.
  3. Study the cause: use topic accuracy to find weak areas, then tag errors by role, timing, definition, number or exception.
Update note: the snapshot was generated on 28 July 2026 from real learning_progress answers. Topics require at least 100 answers for publication, and figures change as new answers arrive.
